A programmatic description of my work

My work mimics the intellectual life, work and perspective;
It explores what might attract one to the intellectual life: the sensuous aspects of idealised intellectual work, and other pluses: the vision of animated, but fair exchanges with others; reflectiveness, the potential for emancipation from unfree social conditions, the urge to understand, to see behind appearances, to glimpse into the unknown;
Some minuses are there too: the problematic relationship between intellectuals and their (imagined) counterparts, the masses , the deluded; the dangers of over-systematisation and abstractness, the disregard for particularity in individuals, cultures and objects, its hubris, its remoteness; the uneasy voice and standpoint from which the intellectual speaks to her fellow citizens.
Simultaneous positive endorsements and negative criticisms of the intellectual perspective perform double binds. It is the language, attitudes, institutions and devices found in the western intellectual culture of the last couple of centuries till now (including natural, social and political science, philosophy and conceptual art) that are mirrored and misused in these works.
